The Verkhovna Rada did not adopt any changes to the general mobilization of men under the age of 25.
This was stated at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center by the People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People party, member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Fedir Venislavsky.
He stressed that mass conscription for military personnel of this age category is not envisaged:
“The Law of Ukraine on Mobilization stipulates that citizens under 25 will not be called up for military service. For citizens under 25, liable for military service, we have provided for contracts. There will be no mass conscription, no mobilization by the age of 25. The Verkhovna Rada has not adopted any changes,” Venislavsky emphasized.
As you know, in February, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially launched the Contract 18-24 project – a new format of voluntary service for Ukrainians aged 18 to 24. This is an initiative that allows young people to join the defense forces for one year, while receiving a high level of training, social guarantees and competitive wages.
By the way, it was previously announced that Ukraine will expand the “Contract 18-24” program to include specialties related to drones.
