Money is coming back: Ukrainian refugees in the US are receiving aid again

Ukrainian refugees in the United States are getting their SNAP food benefits restored after Donald Trump signed the government funding bill into law. The assistance is about $210 per person and is critically important for many families.

Journalists note that after the federal authorities resume work, most states will transfer funds within 24 hours. The SNAP program covers not only Ukrainians, in total, about 42 million US residents receive it.

Previously, Ukrainian refugees received notices of suspension or reduction of payments – the program was frozen from November 1 due to the Big Beautiful Bill, promoted by Donald Trump. This was the first such case in 60 years.

According to Hope For Ukraine, there are about 300,000 Ukrainian refugees in the United States. For large families, the program can bring in $800-1,000 per month. Despite the federal pause, local governments in a number of states continued to provide support.

It was previously reported that Poland is unable to indefinitely accept new waves of Ukrainian refugees and should focus on adapting those already living on its territory.

As a reminder, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk stated that Ukraine should prepare a social support system for refugees who plan to return from abroad.
