Ukrzaliznytsia plans to tighten document control when passengers board trains.
This was reported by the UZ press service.
“In recent days, we have received a number of complaints regarding improper document control by train crews – in particular, whether the name on the ticket and in the passenger’s passport match,” the message says.
In this regard, Ukrzaliznytsia will strengthen the verification of documents before boarding, as well as:
- Paramilitary security groups will be deployed selectively at the stations;
- Train crews received additional instructions on careful data reconciliation.
The UZ also reminded about a number of control tools that have been in operation for over two years:
- purchase tickets for popular international flights after verification through Diya;
- Passengers with tickets in someone else’s name are not allowed on trains.
“We strive to give every honest Ukrainian passenger the opportunity to easily purchase a ticket in the desired direction,” the company emphasized.
UZ noted that the company will continue to allocate a reserve of tickets for military personnel, as well as transport the wounded, internally displaced persons, and international diplomacy in its cars.
