More than 1,300 people are missing after massive floods in China and Nepal.

Flash floods in China and Nepal have caused massive loss of life. More than 1,300 people are missing, and the confirmed death toll has exceeded 160.

In Nepal, the number of missing people stands at 826, while the death toll has risen to 165.

In China, particularly in Tibet, according to state television channel CCTV, 558 people were missing, including 260 foreigners. As of the morning of August 27, at least three deaths were reported.

Ukrainian citizens are also among those missing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 53 Ukrainians are missing following the floods in Nepal.

A large-scale search and rescue operation is underway in the region. Helicopters and drones are involved. Rescuers are searching for more than 500 tourists and pilgrims from 26 countries who were en route to Mount Kailash.

Search efforts are significantly complicated by extensive destruction of infrastructure and the lack of communication.

Ukrainian diplomats, the Ukrainian embassies in India and China, and the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Nepal are attempting to establish contact with the missing citizens and coordinating their work with international services.

As a reminder, 53 Ukrainian citizens are missing in Nepal following massive flooding on the Tibetan border . Among them are a group of 46 Ukrainian tourists with whom contact was lost on the morning of August 26. There are currently no confirmed reports of Ukrainian casualties or injuries.
