As of the morning of January 21, about 4,000 homes in Kyiv remain without heat supply, and almost 60% of the city remains without electricity.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, the most difficult situation is currently observed in the capital and in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

In Kyiv, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is deploying additional support and heating points, as well as preparing hot meals for people.

“According to reports from the city authorities, there are enough forces involved, but it takes time. I disagree with this assessment – additional measures are needed, additional involvement of resources,” the president noted.

Among other things, Zelenskyy discussed with government officials and representatives of Ukrenergo the need to accelerate repairs of networks and substations.

As a reminder, the critical situation in Kyiv continues due to Russian attacks: according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, about 600,000 residents left the capital after the attacks on January 9 .

As is known, after the night Russian attack on Kyiv on January 20, more than 5,600 multi-story buildings were left without heat . Most of them are residential buildings, where heat was only recently restored after the shelling on January 9.
