Moscow names ceasefire condition for Ukraine
Дмитро Пєсков
The Kremlin stated that Ukraine must withdraw its troops from Donbas if it wants an end to hostilities.
This was reported by Russian media, citing a statement by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, the Kremlin considers the complete withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine beyond the administrative borders of Donbas to be a condition for a ceasefire. This is how Peskov explained the statement of the Russian leader’s aide Yuri Ushakov about Ukraine’s “responsible decision.”
When asked by reporters whether he was talking about just Donbas or also the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, Peskov said the Kremlin did not plan to publicly discuss all the details. He also added that Russia considers ending the war only in the context of achieving its own goals.
It was previously reported that US leader Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin discussed all 20 points of the peace plan during a telephone conversation.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has declared his readiness to meet with Vladimir Putin in any format . He called the key condition that Russia’s statements correspond to its real actions.
