Motovylovets admitted that the pro-government faction does not have the votes for important laws

The Servant of the People faction found it much more difficult to gather votes in parliament, and its stable core shrank.

This was stated by the first deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, Andriy Motovylovets , in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.

According to him , previously the faction leadership could count on approximately 180 deputies who consistently supported the vote.

Currently, the core of the faction, according to his assessment, consists of 111 deputies.

Motovylovets calls the key reason the NABU and SAPO investigation into five deputies of the faction, who are suspected of allegedly receiving illegal benefits for voting.

He noted that these cases affected the atmosphere within the faction.

We got a perfect storm in the Servant of the People faction ,” Motovylovets said .

According to him , 17 deputies have already been summoned for questioning .

Motovylovets also said that during the interrogations , questions were asked about how votes are collected in parliament and how support for bills is obtained .

At the same time, he emphasized that he does not evaluate the work of anti-corruption bodies, but noted that their actions have consequences for the work of parliament.

As previously reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has announced suspicion against another MP in the case of systematic receiving of illegal benefits for voting in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The person in the proceedings is Mykhailo Laba, a representative of the Servant of the People faction.

As a reminder, on December 17, the Servant of the People party elected a new chairman — the position was taken by the First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Kornienko.
