President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine will observe a regime of silence, will act in a mirror manner, and is ready to continue the ceasefire after Easter.
He wrote about this in the Telegram channel.
Zelensky stressed that if the Russian side stops shelling, it will mean no response from Ukraine. He discussed with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky the procedure for Ukrainian units to take during the ceasefire.
“Today we have determined the parameters of our response to possible violations of the ceasefire conditions by the Russian army. We all understand who we are dealing with,” the president noted.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for any development of events on the front line. At the same time, Zelensky believes that the holiday period should be a time of peace and security.
According to him, an “Easter truce” could be the beginning of a movement towards peace. In particular, Ukraine has already put forward such a proposal.
“Information about the mirror nature of our actions and the possible extension of the ceasefire after Easter was conveyed to the Russian side,” the president added.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared his readiness for any format of ceasefire , in particular for Easter. Ukraine will agree to a truce provided that Russia completely stops attacks.
As a reminder, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga stated that the president’s proposal for a ceasefire for Easter “has a chance of being implemented.”
The Kremlin initially responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for an Easter truce by stating that Moscow does not support the idea of a ceasefire during the holidays .
However, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin later declared an Easter truce.
At the same time, it is known that Russia does not plan to continue the so-called “Easter truce” and claims that it is supposedly exclusively humanitarian in nature.
