Suspect Detained in the Assassination of Andriy Parubiy

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have detained a suspect in the assassination of Andriy Parubiy, a member of parliament from “European Solidarity.”

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, and the Office of the Prosecutor General have detained a man suspected of murdering MP Andriy Parubiy.

According to the SBU, the suspect was apprehended in the Khmelnytskyi region. The investigation indicates that the assassination was carefully premeditated: the perpetrator studied the deputy’s schedule, mapped out his movements, and prepared an escape plan.

Thanks to the coordinated work of the SBU and the National Police, the suspect was tracked down within 24 hours of the attack and detained within 36 hours.

The investigation and the arrest were carried out under the personal supervision of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who officially announced the detention.

Let us recall that on August 30, Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv.

This was done by a man disguised as a courier. Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times.

On Monday, September 1, in Lviv, at 19:00 in the Archcathedral of St. George, a farewell ceremony for Andriy Parubiy will take place.
