Elon Musk has put plans to create a new political party on hold because it could damage his relationship with J.D. Vance.

This was reported in The Wall Street Journal.

“In recent weeks, Elon Musk has maintained contact with J.D. Vance, who is considered a potential successor to the MAGA political movement. Musk admitted that if he still decides to create a political party, it will harm his relationship with the vice president,” the publication’s sources reported.

Musk and his entourage are considering using some of the funds to support Vance if he decides to run for president in 2028.

The billionaire has not officially ruled out forming a new party and could change his mind ahead of the midterm elections. However, no one has been in contact with prominent people who support the idea of a new party or could help with its organization.

“Musk’s decision to abandon plans to create a third party would be a victory for Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Historically, third parties often take votes away from the two major parties,” the publication noted.

Earlier it became known that American billionaire Elon Musk announced the creation of his own “American Party” .
