NABU and the President’s Office responded to Kravchenko’s statement regarding Kryvonos’ suspicion

NABU responded to Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s statement regarding suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos, and the President’s Office called his initiative an act of self-interest. NABU stated that Kryvonos has not been officially served with suspicion as of now.

The institution stated that it considers the actions of the Prosecutor General as a continuation of a systemic attack on independent anti-corruption bodies. It emphasized that it does not participate in political struggle and acts within the law.

NABU also denied Kravchenko’s claims about the alleged withdrawal of criminal proceedings. The agency stated that NABU had not withdrawn any such proceedings.

“Therefore, the statements of the Prosecutor General, who recently resigned, are currently of a public, not procedural nature,” the NABU said.

The department also emphasized that NABU and SAPO have never offered or demanded “immunity” for their employees or other persons.

At the same time, RBC-Ukraine interlocutors surrounded by President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kravchenko’s initiative regarding the suspicion of Kryvonos and a person close to the head of the SAPO, Oleksandr Klymenko, was not agreed with the President’s Office.

“He went crazy. Maybe he got scared,” said one of the publication’s interlocutors.

Other journalistic sources close to the president also insist that Kravchenko’s decision was his own initiative.

As a reminder, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that he signed a notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos .

Immediately after this, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with a request to immediately support the resignation of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko .

As is known, on September 7 , Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation . He called it a conscious political decision.
