NABU exposed a “servant” in the misappropriation of agricultural products: losses reached tens of millions of hryvnias

The People’s Deputy was caught misappropriating agricultural products worth almost 30 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
As “ Suspilne ” suggests, this is probably referring to the current deputy from “Servant of the People” Anatoly Hunko.
The scheme, organized by the people’s representative and his accomplice, a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council, was exposed by the NABU and the SAPO together with the SBU.
The suspects seized the sunflower and corn harvest of state institutions that are part of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences.
In particular, in 2021, the People’s Deputy colluded with the director of one of the research farms and an accomplice. They organized a scheme that involved collecting and transporting products to private grain warehouses in Chernihiv and Poltava regions.
In this way, they managed to export over 990 tons of sunflower and 1.4 thousand tons of corn, and the value of the products exceeded 27 million hryvnias.
Later, in 2022, a similar scheme was organized based on the research station.
“This time, 203 tons of sunflower seeds were shipped to controlled warehouses. In order to hide the crime, the actual amount of harvested grain was not reflected in the shipping documents,” the report says.
In total, as a result of the actions of the defendants, the state suffered losses in the amount of almost 30 million UAH.
Five people have already been informed of the suspicion – a people’s deputy, a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council, two heads of state enterprises within the structure of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, and an accomplice.
The issue of choosing preventive measures for the suspects is currently being resolved.
Earlier, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to MP, head of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko . The investigation covers the facts of bribes being given to parliamentarians for supporting or blocking certain initiatives in the session hall.
As is known, anti-corruption authorities have handed over suspicions to 41 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation.
