NABU is conducting a corruption investigation into the manufacturer of the Flamingo missiles: media revealed details

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has launched an investigation into the activities of Fire Point, the manufacturer of the Flamingo missile and attack drones.

This was reported by the Kyiv Independent, citing five sources familiar with the investigation.

According to sources, NABU suspects the company of misleading the government regarding pricing and deliveries, in particular, overstating the cost and number of drones delivered to the front.

In addition, the anti-corruption bureau is investigating a possible connection between Fire Point and Timur Mindich, co-founder of the Kvartal 95 studio. Detectives suspect that the businessman is the ultimate owner of the company.

“There are quite active rumors that the drones (Fire Point) are connected to Mindich, and I am completely convinced that this version of events is true,” one of the interlocutors noted.

The publication contacted Mindich’s lawyer, who stated that he had no information about the businessman’s ties to the company.

It is known that the NABU press service refused to comment, assuring that the agency cannot discuss the case, because “it concerns the secrecy of the investigation.”

Instead, Fire Point confirmed the existence of the investigation, but, as the Kyiv Independent reports, downplayed its significance. They stated that it was based on rumors from opponents and was part of a broader investigation into the defense procurement system.

“There is no point in looking for secrets where there are none,” emphasized technical director Iryna Terek.

At the same time, the publication notes that NABU began its investigation about four months ago, before the adoption in July of a bill that limited the independence of anti-corruption bodies.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that successful tests of the Ukrainian Flamingo missile have already taken place .

By the way, Ukraine has officially begun mass production of new-generation cruise missiles called “Flamingo” , which are capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 3,000 kilometers.
