NATO has created a plan to “neutralize” the Kaliningrad region in the event of aggression from the Russian Federation.
This was stated by the commander of the US Army in Europe and Africa and the commander of NATO land forces, General Christopher Donahue.
According to Donahue, NATO is beginning to implement the “Eastern Flank Containment Line” plan, which is aimed at strengthening the military and increasing the interaction of the defense industries of the alliance countries.
The new plan will counter threats from Russia and ensure global security for NATO.
“We know what we need to develop, and the example we use is deterrence from land. The land sector is becoming no less important, but on the contrary, increasingly important. Now you can control the sea from land. We are observing all this in Ukraine,” the general clarified.
Donahue recalled that the Kaliningrad region is surrounded on all sides by NATO countries. He noted that the alliance’s army has the capabilities to “neutralize the region from the ground in a time frame that previously seemed impossible – faster than ever before.”
“We’ve already planned this and we’ve already developed everything. The mass and momentum problem that Russia presents. We’ve developed capabilities to stop this mass and momentum problem,” he said.
It was previously reported that Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam, is preparing for a possible NATO war with Russia, reserving space for ships with military cargo in the event of a conflict .
As a reminder, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that Russia could attack the Alliance within the next 5 years.
By the way, German intelligence has concrete evidence of the Kremlin’s preparations for potential aggression against NATO . Thus, the Russian Federation plans to test the effectiveness of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which guarantees mutual defense.
