NATO has threatened Russia with “devastating consequences” if it uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Russia would face “devastating consequences” if it decided to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine .

He said this during a press conference in Brussels , reports European Pravda .

Rutte was asked to comment on the joint Russian-Belarusian nuclear exercises that began this week.

“They know that if this happens, the consequences will be devastating,” the NATO Secretary General emphasized.

He also added that the North Atlantic Alliance is closely monitoring the progress of the exercises between Russia and Belarus .

As reported, on Monday, May 18, military units responsible for the use and maintenance of nuclear weapons began training in Belarus.
