NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the volumes of American weapons that Ukraine will receive in 2025 and that are planned to be purchased in 2026. According to him, the deliveries are on schedule and should provide the Ukrainian army with a significant package of weapons.
This is reported by “European Truth”.
Rutte said that since the launch of the PURL program in August, the Alliance has been targeting $1 billion in purchases per month. NATO has already reached the planned $4 billion. He expects to add another $1 billion in December, so that by 2025, Ukraine will receive weapons from the United States worth a total of $5 billion.
In 2026, the Alliance plans to increase the volume by another $12 billion. This means that the PURL program will continue. Rutte also predicts that from 2026, NATO will allocate at least $1 billion each year for procurement.
The Secretary General noted that currently approximately two-thirds of NATO countries are participating in the program, but did not provide exact figures.
As previously reported, the Swedish government announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth over 1.1 billion Swedish kronor.
As a reminder, the European Central Bank did not agree to become a guarantor for the so-called “reparations loan” to Ukraine, which was planned to be provided at the expense of frozen Russian assets.
