The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Defense Innovation Accelerator of NATO (DIANA). The document opens Ukrainian defense companies and startups access to the Alliance’s competitions and grants.
This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian mission to NATO, Alena Hetmanchuk.
Ukraine became the first and currently the only NATO partner country to sign such a memorandum.
In addition to participating in competitions and grant programs, Ukrainian developers will have access to over 200 specialized test centers in NATO countries, where they will be able to test their products in real or near-real conditions.
The memorandum also opens access to NATO’s DIANA Capital Network, an investment network that will help Ukrainian companies connect with trusted private investors to further scale their developments.
Another opportunity is access to the Rapid Implementation Service, created to accelerate the development and implementation of DIANA solutions by the Alliance and its allies.
“A very promising track. I am glad that we managed to formalize and launch it,” said Getmanchuk.
As a reminder, on October 22, Ukraine joined a new partnership with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency . This opens up the opportunity to purchase weapons through the Alliance’s centralized system, and for Ukrainian defense companies to participate in the agency’s tenders.
