NATO will be able to defeat Russia if it attacks – Rutte

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said the military bloc is now strong enough that Russia would not risk attacking the alliance. He said that if there were a clash now, NATO could emerge victorious.

Rutte stressed that the Alliance’s current level of defense capabilities allows it to effectively counter potential aggression from Russia. He stressed that the key task remains to maintain this advantage in the long term.

“We will win any battle with Russia if they attack us now, and we must make sure that in 2, 4, 6 years the situation remains the same,” Rutte told reporters.

The Secretary General also noted that maintaining military readiness and strengthening the defense capabilities of Alliance member states is a necessary condition for deterring possible threats in the future.

Earlier, the chairman of the Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, said that the ceasefire in Ukraine could increase the risk of a Russian attack on the countries of NATO’s eastern flank.

Recall that NATO is working on the concept of creating an unmanned robotic defense zone on the border with Russia and Belarus to strengthen the Alliance’s eastern flank.
