Nauseda said that Ukraine’s membership in the EU by 2030 depends on the fight against corruption

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that Ukraine and Moldova’s membership in the European Union by 2030 is a strategic goal for Lithuania.

“Membership of Moldova and Ukraine in the European Union no later than 2030 is a strategic goal for Lithuania,” Nauseda told reporters after meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Vilnius.
Nauseda said that 2030 is a reasonable target date not only for Moldova, but also for other European countries aspiring to EU membership.
Nauseda stressed that Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU is welcome. He added that success depends on reforms, including judicial reform and the fight against corruption.
