Near Kyiv, Russians were preparing to blow up a car near a residential building

The Security Service of Ukraine said it had foiled a plot to carry out a terrorist attack in the Kyiv region. According to the intelligence service, the Russians tricked a local woman into leaving explosives under a car near a residential building.

According to the investigation, Russian special services contacted an unemployed woman and introduced themselves as employees of the SBU and the National Police.

Initially, the Russian curator offered to help her with the medication she had previously purchased through specialized websites. He then instructed the woman to retrieve the package from the cache and await further instructions.

As the SBU established, the package contained a homemade explosive device. After that, the curator asked the woman to check its components.

She was then supposed to take the explosives to a residential area in the suburbs of Kyiv and leave them under the wheel of a car parked near a supermarket.

The SBU thwarted the preparation of the terrorist attack. Law enforcement officers are currently identifying all people who could have been involved in cooperation with Russia.

The special service also reminded that the SBU does not give citizens such tasks and acts exclusively within the framework of Ukrainian legislation.
