Nearly half of Americans disapprove of Trump’s approach to war

Almost half of Americans do not support US President Donald Trump’s approach to resolving the war in Ukraine.

This is reported by The Hill, citing a survey by The Economist/YouGov.

According to the poll, 49% of respondents said they “somewhat disapprove” or “strongly disapprove” of Trump’s actions regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, 30% of Americans said they “somewhat approve” or “strongly approve” of his approach. Another 20% of respondents were undecided.

Sociologists also asked who, in the opinion of Americans, has the advantage in the war. 27% of respondents believe that the advantage is on the side of Russia, only 6% see the advantage of Ukraine. The largest share – 44% – said that neither side has a clear advantage. Another 24% could not give an answer.

The survey was conducted from December 26 to 29 among 1,550 respondents. The research margin of error is 3.6 percentage points.

As previously reported, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian side will strengthen its negotiating position on the settlement of the war in Ukraine and will conduct negotiations primarily with the United States.

As a reminder, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the war in Ukraine could end within the coming weeks.
