Negotiations between Ukraine, the US and Russia in Abu Dhabi have concluded: first details and time of the next meeting

The trilateral talks involving delegations from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, which took place on January 23–24 in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, have concluded. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the negotiation process.

This is reported by “Social” .

According to a source in the Ukrainian delegation, the negotiations lasted more than 3 hours. The interlocutor confirmed the conclusion of the meeting, without disclosing the details of the discussion.

Separately, Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing Ukrainian officials, reported that the talks were constructive. According to him, the parties assessed the meeting as positive.

“The trilateral talks between the US, Russia and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi were positive and constructive,” wrote Barak Ravid.

He also noted that the next round of talks could take place in Abu Dhabi as early as next week .

At the same time, the Russian state news agency TASS, citing its own sources, reported that the talks in Abu Dhabi will continue in the coming days. Russian sources claim that the meeting was not fruitless.

“The results of the talks on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi will be announced by authorized persons in the capitals,” a TASS source reported.

By the way, Washington is considering an offer to Ukraine to give up Donbas in exchange for a plan to finance the country’s reconstruction worth $800 billion.

As previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Donbas issue will be central during the trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia , which will be held in the UAE on January 23-24.

As a reminder, the US and Ukraine are discussing the possibility of offering Russia a limited “energy truce,” which would involve a cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure on both sides.
