Negotiations in London: Zelenskyy voiced a common position on security guarantees

A meeting of European leaders with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took place in London.

This is reported by Sky News.

After a joint photo at Downing Street, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Christian Democrat leader Friedrich Merz left the prime minister’s residence, while Keir Starmer and Zelensky continued their face-to-face talks.

According to Zelensky, during the meeting, the parties discussed joint diplomatic work with the United States, agreed on a position on security guarantees, plans for the reconstruction of Ukraine, and agreed on the next steps in cooperation.

Before that, all four leaders chatted briefly on the red carpet and did not answer questions from reporters. When the joint part of the meeting was over, Macron and Merz left Downing Street on foot, while Zelensky and the British prime minister returned to the residence for bilateral talks.

After the meeting, Merz stated on the X social network that the future of Ukraine determines the future of all of Europe, and emphasized that support for Kyiv will not waver.

After the talks, Zelenskyy concluded his visit to London and headed to Brussels, where he will hold meetings with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

It was previously reported that the American team is using pressure to persuade the Ukrainian side to adopt a peace agreement that is supposed to end the war.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in London on Monday, December 8, for a series of meetings with Western leaders.
