New attack on Tuapse: drones hit oil refinery, fire breaks out

On the night of Tuesday, April 28, a series of powerful explosions rocked the Russian city of Tuapse. The city was attacked by drones, and an oil refinery was hit.

Local residents write that the explosions lasted for several hours.

After the attack, a fire broke out on the territory of the refinery. Videos of fire and thick smoke were posted online. According to preliminary data, the drones approached the target from the sea at a low altitude.

Russian publications write that the strike could have hit the company’s tank farm, and the sea terminal was also allegedly under attack.

This morning, Russian authorities confirmed the attack itself. They said the fire was caused by “falling debris” from drones and assured that there were no injuries.

Currently, efforts are underway to extinguish the fire. More than a hundred rescuers have been involved in the work. Against the backdrop of the attack, restrictions were also imposed on the operation of airports in the region.

Earlier, on the night of April 20 , drones attacked the city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia, hitting a seaport and an oil refinery . The attack resulted in a large-scale fire, killing 1 person and injuring 1 more.

As a reminder, the oil slick after the spill in Tuapse continues to spread along the Black Sea coast and is approaching the Gelendzhik region.

As reported, the Ukrainian defense forces are more actively exploiting the weaknesses of Russian air defenses and striking strategic targets far behind the front line.
