On February 24, the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron will convene the “Coalition of the Willing.”
This was announced by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, quoted by Ukrinform.
“Tomorrow in Paris, the President of the Republic will convene the Coalition of the Willing to further advance the historic work done by more than 30 countries that have pooled their military capabilities so that peace, once it is concluded in Ukraine, can be guaranteed,” he said.
The minister noted that the Russian dictator suffered a “devastating defeat” in Ukraine, because Russian troops control less than half of the territories captured in the spring of 2022, and advances on the front are costing huge human casualties.
“Over one million human losses for Russia since the beginning of this war. And today at the front its army suffers a thousand casualties every day,” Barro noted.
He also highlighted the problems of the Russian economy. According to him, the Kremlin’s state treasury is currently empty. The head of the foreign ministry added that Europe will continue to put pressure on Russia through sanctions.
As previously reported, following the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which took place on January 6 in Paris, a number of world leaders made statements about security guarantees for Ukraine.
