New rules for selling Ukrzaliznytsia tickets have been introduced in Ukraine: what will the price depend on?

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development has updated the rules for calculating the cost of railway tickets. The price of seats in SV and first class Intercity carriages will now depend on the date of purchase, day of the week, and train occupancy.

This is stated in Order No. 545 .

Dynamic pricing is being introduced for premium transportation segments. Ukrzaliznytsia will be able to adjust the base fare depending on actual or forecasted demand.

The cost of tickets in SE and first class “Intercity” will vary depending on the time of purchase:

• 20-90 days before departure – base price;
• for 15-19 days – +15%;
• in 10-14 days – +17%;
• in 5-9 days – +20%;
• for 1-4 days – +25%;
• on the day of departure – +30%.

The price will also depend on the day of the week. On Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a 10% discount, on Thursday and Saturday – a 10% surcharge. On Friday and Sunday, prices will increase by 10-20% depending on the category of car and train.

For “Intercity+” when purchasing round-trip tickets, except for first class, a fixed discount of 10% is provided.

In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia will be able to further increase the cost of tickets if there are few free seats left on a particular flight.

We remind you that Ukrzaliznytsia passengers can now order a book along with a ticket for a number of international and domestic flights. At the beginning of the journey, the order will already be waiting for the passenger on his shelf in the carriage.
