On Sunday, July 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on individuals and legal entities.
This is stated on the website of the presidential online representation.
In particular, as stated in Decree No. 555/2025, 45 individuals with Russian citizenship were subject to restrictive measures. In addition, sanctions were imposed on 50 enterprises: 49 of them are located in the Russian Federation and one in Kazakhstan.
Another decree refers to restrictions affecting 8 citizens from the Russian Federation, China, Azerbaijan, Iran, and India, as well as 45 companies from Hong Kong, the People’s Republic of China, India, the UAE, Russia, Singapore, the Republic of Mauritius, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Belarus.
Zelensky later wrote that today’s sanctions were applied against the enemy’s military production. As he noted, the companies in question are engaged in the extraction of rare earth and rare metals, which are key for the production of electronics, guidance systems, engines, and drones.
“Maximum sanctions pressure is the most effective argument for Russia to end the war. They are feeling the consequences of sanctions, and this is not only at the level of the Russian federal budget, but also in the life of Russian regions, in the sectors of their economy,” the president summed up.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that it is necessary to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to force it to stop the war against Ukraine.
