Britain’s King Charles III may ban his brother, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sari Ferguson, from attending private family events due to the scandal surrounding convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the Daily Mail , Buckingham Palace is currently not commenting on the letter published by The Sun and Mail on Sunday, in which Ferguson called Epstein her “best friend.”

Journalists explained that the Duchess of York is not a senior member of the royal family, so Charles cannot control her private or public statements. Meanwhile, Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s connection to Epstein once again casts a shadow over the monarchy.

During Prince Philip’s lifetime, Sarah Ferguson was a persona non grata in the family, but Queen Elizabeth allowed her to visit Balmoral and Sandringham when her husband was not present. After his cancer diagnosis, Charles agreed to allow her to celebrate Christmas and Easter with the family.

Now, following Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s joint appearance at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral on September 16, pressure on the royal family has increased again. The Daily Mail has suggested that the king will have to limit their presence at family events.

As a reminder, Prince Harry met with King Charles III . Harry arrived in the UK on September 8.
