New structure in the Defense Forces: Ukraine creates a Joint Forces Group under the leadership of Drapaty

A new Joint Forces Group (JFG) has been created in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, headed by Major General Mykhailo Drapaty. The command’s area of responsibility covers the Kharkiv region and adjacent territories.

As a result of structural changes in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, a new grouping, the Joint Forces (JF), was created. It was headed by Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, who previously commanded the operational-strategic groups of troops “Khortytsia” and “Dnipro”.

As stated in the statement, the new Group will be almost entirely managed by the Joint Forces Command under the leadership of Drapaty.

The command’s area of responsibility covers the Kharkiv region and surrounding areas, which remain one of the key areas on the front.

“This complex and tense sector, which occupies one of the key places in the enemy’s plans, has been entrusted to General Drapatom for the second time. Let us recall that in 2024 he already headed the Kharkiv Special Operations Command during the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region and the threat to Vovchansk,” the report says.

The corps operating in this direction are directly subordinate to the newly created Joint Forces Group. The subordinate forces include units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Service.

Recall that in June, the Armed Forces of Ukraine created a separate grouping of the Unmanned Systems Forces , which will unite all units of this branch of the military.
