New Wave of Aid to Ukraine: Trump Implements Tactics of Exhausting Russia

Recently, US President Donald Trump announced at Andrews Air Force Base that missiles for Patriot systems are already being delivered to Ukraine.
“They are already being sent. They are coming from Germany, and then Germany is replenishing them. And in all cases, the United States is being fully reimbursed,” the American president said.
The United States will also provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense missile systems. According to Trump, the United States will transfer them through a mechanism in which European allies will pay for the purchase and shipment, and the United States will replenish their reserves. We are talking about 17 batteries that could be transferred “very soon.”
The expanded nature of military-technical support for Ukraine from the United States is taking place against the backdrop of publications in Western media about the alleged cessation of military aid to Ukraine.
In my opinion, these publications became the subject of a large-scale information and psychological operation by Russian special services, aimed at both Ukrainian society and Western allies on the eve of Trump’s telephone conversation with Putin. These are the so-called active operations of the enemy in the information space with the aim of forming a negative public opinion. It was for this purpose that the thesis about the alleged termination of US military and technical assistance to Ukraine was disseminated to the general public. It is noteworthy that the “injection” of information occurs on the pages of the publication “Politico”, which has previously repeatedly covered controversial information with reference to anonymous sources. Unfortunately, this information was picked up by many media outlets without even checking it.
In the fourth year of the war, we need to learn: if in serious military-political matters we are talking about “informed” but unnamed sources, then this information most likely definitely falls into the category of IPSO, initiated by the special services of the Russian Federation.
The main goal of this “throw-in” was obvious: to create information pressure on the Ukrainian leadership. At the same time, the first to comment on this “throw-in” were Russian officials. And this is already the second sign that the message is a Russian information-psychological special operation.
It should also be noted that this IPSO was prepared in advance. After all, it is enough to remember that the day before, information was disseminated through the media that Kyiv would become the most dangerous city in Ukraine due to the bleeding of the Air Defense Forces.
Another point indicating that Russian special services are behind this is the powerful combined air strike on the Ukrainian capital as a decision-making center, carried out by the aggressor country on July 4. At the same time, everything happened as a confirmation of the words of the Russian dictator that he “will not stop.”
At the same time, the so-called “suspension” of aid from the US is refuted by the fact of deliveries of American air defense systems, Patriot missiles, F-16 fighters and Abrams tanks. After Trump’s conversation with the Russian dictator, the US sharply intensified the process of re-exporting weapons from NATO countries.
At present, the issue of supplying military equipment is being resolved, in particular, at the expense of our European partners. However, without the consent of the United States, not a single unit of weapons produced in this country can move forward in favor of other countries.
Note that re-export is permitted if a third country is involved in an armed conflict and exercises its right to self-defense enshrined in international law, and the UN Security Council has established a violation of the prohibition on the use of force in accordance with international law in accordance with the UN Charter.
In our case, we are talking about the transfer of American-made weapons, which the Biden administration had previously not allowed.
For example, Australia promised to provide Ukraine with 49 M1A1 Abrams tanks as military aid back in October 2024, during the Biden presidency. And only during Trump’s presidency did this issue move forward.
According to Major General Christian Freiding, head of the Special Staff for Ukraine at the German Defense Ministry, Ukraine has received an additional hundred anti-aircraft missiles in addition to the American-made Patriot systems that were promised by Germany.
To understand the volume of military assistance from Germany, I will give the current rate of production of Patriot missiles per year: 240 GEM-T units at Raytheon facilities and 550 MSE at Lockheed Martin facilities.
Norway announced the transfer of NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine. In addition, Norway will facilitate the production of missiles for NASAMS in Ukraine.
“The Norwegian NASAMS system saves lives every day in Ukraine and plays a crucial role in protecting critical infrastructure. That is why it is important for the Norwegian government to finance the development of cheaper missiles for the NASAMS system in Ukraine,” the Norwegian Minister of Defense noted.
These words were reinforced by the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and one of the Ukrainian enterprises for the development and production of such air defense missiles in Ukraine.
Belgium has stated that it will try to deliver F-16s to Ukraine even before the deadline. Although Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever had previously reported that the transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine would be delayed until next year due to delays in the delivery of F-35 aircraft from the United States, which were supposed to replace them.
Italy, which had previously denied having weapons to transfer to Ukraine, suddenly announced that it plans to transfer 400 M113 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of the next package of military aid. But the main thing is that it transmits the SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile system, the European equivalent of the American Patriot.
In addition, the German Defense Minister said during a recent visit to Ukraine that Germany has already provided funding of 7 billion euros to help Ukraine this year and plans to additionally allocate another 1.9 billion euros. According to him, part of these funds will be directed specifically to financing the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons.
And all this is happening after Trump’s penultimate conversation with Putin. So, what kind of cessation of military-technical aid are they trying to hammer into our heads? It’s called intensification of military-technical aid, not its cessation.
To sum up: all this hysteria around the termination of military-technical assistance was organized by the Russian side on the eve of Trump’s last conversation with Putin with the aim of forcing Ukraine to make territorial concessions.
While Russia, in the person of its dictator, will continue to demonstrate “unwaveringness”, Trump will most likely resort to his campaign promise: “I will give Ukraine so many weapons that I will force Russia to the negotiating table.” This is not just support for Ukraine, but a clear game of attrition of the enemy.
Today’s increase in the pace of military and technical support for Ukraine from the United States is not a “change of heart” by Trump, but a well-thought-out multi-move, where the main goal is to force Russia to sit down at the negotiating table. And this is no longer just a military operation, but a complex geopolitical one.
