It’s worth noting that the Belgians, despite having Romelu Lukaku in their squad, failed to confirm their status as group favorites in the match against Iran.
Iran now tops the group, while Belgium moves up to second place. The Iranians are ahead of the Red Devils thanks to a higher number of goals scored in the first round.
A victory for either team in the New Zealand-Egypt tie would give the winner the opportunity to take sole control of Group G and virtually secure a spot in the playoffs. Bookmakers believe Egypt has the best chance of achieving this.
