Next month, the EU is expected to approve a new, 19th package of sanctions against Russia over its war against Ukraine.
This was stated by European Commission spokeswoman Arianna Podesta during a briefing in Brussels, Ukrinform reports.
She emphasized that the pressure on Moscow will not weaken, but on the contrary, Europe will continue to tighten restrictions in response to Russian aggression. According to Podesta, the European Union realizes that sanctions are working, so it plans to actively develop new packages in the future.
However, specific details regarding the 19th package are not yet disclosed. The European Commission representative added that the adoption of this package is scheduled for the coming month.
Recall that the European Union is preparing to impose sanctions against China due to its role in supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine.
As reported, Donald Trump will use the topic of sanctions during a conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
