In Ukraine, as of the morning of July 1, consumers in nine regions remain without electricity. The reasons were Russian shelling of energy infrastructure and bad weather. In addition, due to high consumption levels in the evening, hourly outages will be introduced across the country.
This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo.
According to the company, as a result of Russian attacks, new power outages were recorded in Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Kirovohrad regions.
“The enemy continues to attack the civilian energy infrastructure of Ukraine. As a result of enemy strikes, there are new power outages in the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Kirovohrad regions this morning,” Ukrenergo noted.
Meanwhile, more than 80 settlements in Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Zhytomyr regions remain without power due to the bad weather. Emergency crews are already working to restore damaged power lines.
Ukrenergo also reported that due to the heat, the load on the power system remains high. In this regard, electricity consumption restrictions will be applied in all regions of Ukraine today, July 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
“Due to the high level of energy consumption caused by the heat, hourly outages will be forced to be applied for all categories of consumers today in all regions of Ukraine from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.,” the company reported.
Energy experts recommend using energy-intensive electrical appliances during the day — from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. — to reduce the load on the power system.
Ukrenergo emphasized that the situation may change depending on the state of the power system, so Ukrainians are advised to monitor the messages of their distribution system operators.
