Nine settlements liberated: Defense Forces regain control of 440 square kilometers in the South

As of March 26, 2026, units of the Airborne Assault Forces had regained control over about 440 square kilometers in the Oleksandrivka direction.

This was reported by the command of the Ukrainian Border Guard.

As noted, the military managed to liberate 9 settlements, 7 of them in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and another 2 in the Zaporizhia region.

In addition, during the operation in the Oleksandrivka direction, the Defense Forces fighters cleared 3 settlements from the enemy.

In less than two months, the Russian army lost 3,676 soldiers: 2,653 were irretrievable, 1,023 were medical personnel, and another 11 occupiers were captured.

Among other enemy losses were 141 units of automotive equipment, 13 armored personnel carriers, 250 artillery systems, 153 units of motorcycle/quad equipment, almost 1,300 “Krylo” type drones, as well as 140 UAV control points.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an offensive in the south and have already liberated almost the entire Dnipropetrovsk region.

In early March, it became known that the fighters of the 7th Corps of the DShV broke through the defense line of the Russian occupiers in the Oleksandrivka direction , disrupting the enemy’s plans for a further offensive.
