US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, saying that despite massive attacks on Ukrainian cities, Moscow is suffering reputational losses and making little progress on the front.

Trump stated this while speaking to reporters at the White House.

“I’m watching what’s happening closely. And I have to say, I’m deeply disappointed in the way Putin is acting. He’s killing people for no reason. And he’s not achieving anything. It looks very bad for Russia, which has put everything on the line,” Trump said.

The politician stressed that the war has been going on for four years, and the Kremlin has still not been able to achieve any strategic advantage. According to him, regular shelling of Ukrainian cities and the use of hundreds of drones are not bringing Russia the expected results.

“They destroy infrastructure, shell peaceful cities, launch hundreds of drones, but territorial gains are minimal. And in some places they even lose ground. This is a disaster for their reputation,” he emphasized.

Trump also said that in his opinion, this war should have ended a long time ago – and if the US were a party to the conflict, he “would have ended it in a week.”

“If this were our war, I would end it very quickly. But what Russia is doing now is absurd. It’s a protracted disaster,” Trump added.

He noted that he does not see any logic in the Kremlin’s actions, and the large-scale destruction and casualties do not translate into any real success.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and named the conditions under which Russia would lose the war against Ukraine.

As reported, US President Donald Trump made a number of high-profile statements during a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the main of which was the admission that Russian leader Vladimir Putin “let him down.” The American president openly admitted that he expected an easier path to ending the war in Ukraine thanks to his own contacts with the Kremlin, but the situation turned out to be much more complicated.
