Head of European diplomacy Kaia Kallas, during a visit to Ukraine, stated that there is no “good news” yet regarding the provision of a loan of 90 billion.
She said this while talking to journalists, Suspilne reports .
According to the official, the European Union has encountered difficulties in repaying the loan and adopting a new package of sanctions against Russia.
“Work to overcome them continues, but unfortunately I cannot report good news today,” Kallas noted.
She expressed hope that officials will be able to make a decision at the next European Council.
As a reminder, on Thursday, March 19, a summit of EU leaders was held in Brussels, where one of the key issues was financial support for Ukraine , in particular the possible unlocking of a 90 billion euro aid package.
However, European leaders were unable to convince Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to abandon the decision to block a $90 billion loan for Ukraine.
Despite this, the European Union promises to provide Ukraine with a loan of 90 billion euros , even despite Hungary’s blockade.
