In the United States, mass No Kings protests against President Donald Trump’s policies took place in dozens of cities across the country. Organizers estimated that more than 8,000,000 people took part in the rallies.
This is reported by the BBC .
The actions became the third wave of No Kings protests and took place in almost every major city in the US, as well as in smaller towns and abroad, including Paris and London.
Organizers said the protest was directed against the decisions of the Donald Trump administration, including the war against Iran, immigration policy and the rising cost of living.
“Trump wants to rule like a tyrant. But this is America, and power belongs to the people, not kings or their billionaires,” the organizers said.
In Washington, thousands of protesters filled downtown, including the area near the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall. Demonstrators also took to the streets of New York, where police blocked traffic due to large crowds.
In Minnesota, the protests came amid public outrage over the deaths of two US citizens, with thousands of people gathering outside the state capitol building.
During the protests, participants used posters as well as symbolic images of Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other administration officials.
Actor Robert De Niro, who joined the protest in New York, said it was necessary to oppose the president’s policies.
“We must confront this regime and fight it peacefully but decisively. We have no choice,” said Robert De Niro.
At the same time, a White House spokesman called these actions “anti-Trump therapy sessions” and stated that they did not have a significant impact.
Clashes broke out in several cities during the protests. In particular, in Los Angeles, several people were detained after attacking law enforcement officers, and non-lethal means were used to disperse the crowd.
Organizers emphasize that the protests remain peaceful, despite some incidents, and their goal is to draw attention to the policies of the presidential administration.
It was previously reported that the third round of large-scale “No to Kings” protests took place in the United States , directed against the policies of Donald Trump.
