No longer under arrest: court changes Tyshchenko’s preventive measure in Kraken case

On October 9, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Dnipro held a regular hearing in the case of MP Mykola Tyshchenko and former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko. They are accused of illegally detaining Dmytro Mazokha, a former soldier of the Kraken special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As “Suspilne” reports , the court changed the preventive measure for both defendants. Instead of nightly house arrest, they are now under personal bond until December 9. Previously, the arrest restriction lasted until October 21.

The meeting reviewed the protocol and video footage of the search of the deputy’s apartment, and the defendants themselves participated in the process remotely – via video conference. The next hearing is scheduled for November 10.

As is known, the case was opened after an incident in Dnipro, where people in camouflage detained a man in civilian clothes . Later it turned out that this was a former soldier of the Kraken special forces unit, Dmytro Mazokha. According to the SBI, it was Tyshchenko and Pysarenko who participated in the illegal detention.

Tyshchenko denies the charges. On his Facebook, he stated that the incident occurred during a search of fraudulent boat farms, and the victim allegedly “attacked law enforcement officers and damaged a body camera.” At the same time, the Dnipro police noted that no local units participated in those actions and did not cooperate with the people’s deputy.

As a reminder, on May 12, the court decided to transfer MP Mykola Tyshchenko and former law enforcement officer Bohdan Pysarenko from 24-hour to nightly house arrest in the case of an attack on a former Kraken special forces soldier.
