The new Minister of Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Head of the Security Service of Ukraine will not be appointed until the next meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, which is not scheduled to take place until August 18.

This was reported by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“As expected, there will be no meeting of the Servant of the People faction regarding the Minister of Defense. More precisely, it lasted a couple of minutes, where they said that they were looking for a different candidate for the position of Minister of Defense than Klymenko (but not Fedorov). They said that maybe something will happen at 9:00 PM (but, I think, another story) or already in August… August 18, for your understanding. Here’s the story: there is no Minister of Foreign Affairs, no Minister of Defense, no Head of the SBU, no Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service… That way we will definitely win,” he wrote.

In addition, Zheleznyak stated that Mikhail Fedorov has been “completely dismissed” and no longer performs the duties of the minister.

Later, the deputy also announced that there would be no plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on July 17.

It was previously reported that the Verkhovna Rada on July 14 supported the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko . The entire Cabinet of Ministers resigned along with the head of government.

The Servant of the People faction also announced who they plan to re-appoint to the new Cabinet of Ministers , which, according to preliminary data, may be headed by Serhiy Koretsky. At the same time, Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that he is leaving the post of Minister of Defense and summed up his work.

In addition, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretsky as Prime Minister of Ukraine . The corresponding decision was supported by 289 people’s deputies.

On July 16, rallies were held in a number of Ukrainian cities in support of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov . People took to the streets after the decision to dismiss him, calling on the authorities to reconsider the personnel changes.
