Married couples who do not have minor children together will now be able to dissolve their marriage through the “Diya” application. However, the service is available only with the mutual consent of the spouses, and the procedure itself is completed one month after submitting the application.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs announced the launch of the service on its website.

It is known that previously, to dissolve a marriage, both parties had to visit the DRACS department at least twice and submit paper documents.

Now one of the spouses forms an application in the application, after which the second confirms it in his “Act”. Then the system automatically checks the data in the State Register of Civil Status Acts.

A video conference and state registration of the divorce take place one month after the application is submitted. The application can be withdrawn before this deadline, but this must be done no later than four hours before the start of the video conference.

If the other party does not confirm the application, it is impossible to use the service. Spouses who have minor children together must still dissolve the marriage through the court.

In particular, those who do not use “Diya” can submit a joint application in person at the DRACS department.
