US President Donald Trump has released a video of a speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he praised his peacemaking efforts and commented on the Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump posted a video of Putin praising him on Truth Social.
In the video, Putin called Trump a politician who is trying to solve “complex problems, crises that have lasted for decades,” and mentioned that the US president “sincerely seeks” a resolution to the war in Ukraine.
In addition, the Kremlin leader noted that the Peace Prize in the past “was sometimes awarded undeservedly,” so “the authority of the prize has been largely lost.”
“I don’t know whether the US president deserves the Nobel Prize or not, but he is really doing a lot to resolve complex crises that drag on for years, or even decades… Regarding the crisis in Ukraine, he sincerely strives for this. Some things have been successful, some things haven’t, maybe we will still be able to do a lot based on the agreements and discussions in Anchorage,” Putin said.
He also commented on US efforts in the Middle East region, noting that if Trump manages to complete “what Donald wants in the Middle East, it will be a historic event.”
The US president responded to all this briefly but succinctly, writing on his profile: “Thanks to President Putin!”, sparking another wave of discussions in American politics.
As a reminder, Washington reacted to the decision of the Nobel Committee to award the 2025 Peace Prize to the leader of the democratic movement in Venezuela, Maria Corina Machado. The administration of US President Donald Trump believes that the committee has put “politics above peace.”
As you know, Maria Corina Machado was recognized for her long-standing struggle for democracy in Venezuela . The Nobel Committee described her as one of the most outstanding figures of civic courage in Latin America.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that if he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize, it would be an insult to the United States .
