On the first day of autumn, the Earth will be covered by a powerful magnetic storm caused by a series of solar flares. Scientists predict fluctuations in the planet’s magnetic field that could cause disruptions in communications and power systems, the appearance of the northern lights in Europe, and a deterioration in the well-being of weather-sensitive people.

It is noted that the fall of 2025 will begin with a powerful cosmic event. According to international research centers, on September 1, the Earth will be covered by a geomagnetic storm caused by a series of active processes on the Sun.

Experts report that several flares have been recorded on the surface of our star over the past day, including a powerful M2.7 class. Plasma emissions at a speed of about 1,000 km/s are already heading towards the Earth and can significantly affect the state of its magnetosphere.

According to the forecast of the resource “Meteoagent”, the geomagnetic activity index Kp will reach 5.7 points on September 1 and 6.7 points on September 2 .

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a Category 3 storm warning on a five-point scale. It is expected to begin on the evening of September 1 and last for 18 to 24 hours, although the start time may be delayed by 8 hours.

Possible consequences of the storm:

• disruption of satellite and mobile communications;
• failures in power systems;
• the appearance of the northern lights, which this time will be visible even to residents of the eastern regions of Europe.
