Ukrainian military intelligence has reported the active use by Russian forces of a new type of drone equipped with LTE modems. This drone can perform the functions of both a strike and reconnaissance aircraft, as well as simulate an attack to overload Ukrainian air defenses.
This is stated in a post by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
The GUR also published a 3D model and technical specifications of the drone, which Russia uses on various fronts.
What is known about the drone?
1. It has a delta-wing fuselage similar to the Iranian Shahed, but slightly smaller in size.
2. Equipped with a camera and two LTE modems that provide real-time or delayed video transmission, as well as remote course correction
3. Navigation is carried out via a secure satellite system with four patch antennas and Chinese-made Allystar modules
4. In the strike version, it can act as an FPV drone with operator guidance on the target
About half of all drone components are of Chinese origin. These include:
communication modules
minicomputer
power regulator
quartz oscillator
The DLE engine installed in the bow shows similarities to the Italmas loitering munition, which is manufactured by the Russian company Zala Group.
Intelligence warns that this modification of drones could complicate the work of Ukrainian air defense forces, as it is used not only for strikes, but also to simulate mass attacks, creating an additional burden on defense systems.
As previously reported, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reported that, thanks to cooperation with Chinese companies, Russia receives critically important resources for the military industry . These include special chemicals for the production of explosives, electronic components, and machine tools that are directly used in the production of weapons and military equipment.
