US President Donald Trump has said he is not currently considering the possibility of transferring Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, despite Kyiv’s requests to strengthen the long-range capabilities of the Armed Forces. The position may change, but for now the issue of supplying these missiles is not on the agenda.

He said this while talking to journalists.

Donald Trump responded to the question of whether the United States is ready to provide Ukraine with modern missiles. The president said: “No, not really.”

At the same time, he clarified that he may reconsider the decision in the future: “It’s not that I can’t reconsider the decision, but right now – no.”

The head of the White House also acknowledged that the war is difficult for both sides. According to him, Russia has suffered significant losses among its military, and the situation remains difficult for both Moscow and Kyiv.

“Putin lost a lot of soldiers, maybe a million. That’s a lot. And Ukraine is also struggling. Sometimes you just have to let it all come to an end,” Trump said.

During a conversation with reporters, the US president emphasized that for him there is no “last straw” that could definitively prove that Vladimir Putin is not ready to end the war.

“There is no last straw here. Sometimes they have to be allowed to fight. And they fight and fight,” he noted.

Trump previously reported that during his presidency he had already resolved eight conflicts and in most cases used trade pressure methods, including the imposition of tariffs, to force the parties to cease hostilities.

He also stated that, in his opinion, Vladimir Putin is eager to trade with the United States.

“I think he wants to come in and trade with us, and he wants to make a lot of money for Russia, and I think that’s great,” Trump said.

The US President concluded that despite the complexity of the war, he does not rule out the possibility of changing his position on military support for Ukraine in the future.

By the way, the Pentagon gave a positive assessment of the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles , but the final decision on the transfer must be made by US President Donald Trump. This decision caused mixed reactions among European allies and raised a number of operational questions regarding the use of missiles in wartime.

Earlier, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo expressed the opinion that US President Donald Trump should allow Ukraine to use American long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles in the fight against Russia.

As a reminder, American leader Donald Trump, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that his priority was to end the war and said not to count on Tomahawk missiles .

The day before, it was reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is already negotiating with European partners who can help by providing long-range weapons .
