Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine: how Poroshenko’s “quiet diplomacy” works

And you noticed that yesterday morning Poroshenko spoke at an extraordinary summit of the EPP (this is the largest party in the European Parliament), and today a resolution of the European Parliament was issued, where they literally repeated the main theses of Poroshenko.

These theses are not really new. I think you all know them already. But repeating wise words is not a sin.

• First, a ceasefire.
• Secondly, no territorial concessions. This is a red line.
• Third, Europe’s participation in any peace negotiations, as the results of the war with Ukraine will have a profound impact on the entire European security order.

“Nothing about Ukraine should be decided without Ukraine, and nothing about Europe without Europe.”

Familiar words?

No, this is not creative borrowing. This is called quiet diplomacy.

Let us recall that the fifth president and leader of “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko addressed the participants of the extraordinary summit of the European People’s Party – the largest political union in the European Parliament. He noted: Ukrainians, more than anyone else, want peace, but not at the price of surrender. ” Peace cannot be built on the legalization of aggression , and peace cannot give Moscow the right to veto our European future,” Poroshenko emphasized.
