“Nova Poshta” launched a private air defense system: the first “Shahedas” have been shot down
Nova Poshta has created its own air defense system, which is already shooting down Russian attack drones. The company has not yet disclosed how many Shaheds it has managed to destroy.
This was announced by co-owner of the Nova group of companies Vyacheslav Klymov during the 12th Kyiv International Economic Forum.
According to him, Nova Poshta became one of the few Ukrainian companies that was able to implement a private air defense project.
“We are one of the few companies that has implemented this project. I don’t want to reveal the numbers to you, but we have shot down the Shaheds,” Klimov said.
He believes that Ukrainian business should be more actively involved in protecting its own facilities. In particular, companies can independently perform some of the tasks that were previously the sole responsibility of the state.
Klimov also said that Nova Poshta employees themselves put out a significant part of the fires after Russian attacks, without waiting for the arrival of rescuers from the State Emergency Service.
According to him, large Ukrainian companies are already looking for fire trucks in Europe to create their own fire services.
At the same time, private air defense in Ukraine has not yet become widespread. Although the state has granted businesses many permits to create such units, only a few successful projects are publicly known. They are mainly implemented by large state and private companies that have enough funds to develop their own air defense.
