On Sunday, October 19, as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones, the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery, located in the Samara region, stopped operating.

This was reported by Reuters on October 20, citing two sources.

The company is currently not performing primary processing of crude oil, having shut down its distillation unit, with a capacity of 18,900 metric tons or about 138,540 barrels per day.

Primary oil processing at the refinery has already been halted following drone strikes last month. In particular, one primary unit, CDU-9, is still out of service.

According to the news agency’s interlocutors, the plant will be able to resume operations in early November.

“Last year, the refinery processed 5.74 million tons of crude oil, produced 1.10 million tons of motor gasoline, 1.64 million tons of diesel fuel, and 1.27 million tons of fuel oil,” the Reuters report said.

As a reminder, on the night of October 19 , the Defense Forces struck the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery . Powerful explosions and a large-scale fire were observed on the territory of the enterprise.
