Now it’s official: decrees on the change of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Chief of the General Staff have appeared

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has officially changed the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The relevant decrees on dismissals and new appointments have already been published on the head of state’s website.

This is evidenced by decrees No. 627/2026 , No. 628/2026 , No. 629/2026 , No. 630/2026 and No. 631/2026 .

According to the documents, Oleksandr Syrsky was dismissed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Andriy Hnatov was dismissed from the post of Chief of the General Staff.

By a separate decree , the president also dismissed Mykhailo Drapaty from the position of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After that, Zelenskyy appointed Drapaty as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

By another decree, the president appointed Major General Ihor Skybyuk as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thus, the personnel changes in the top military leadership, which the president announced earlier, have officially come into effect in Ukraine.

As previously reported, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty officially assumed the duties of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Mykhailo Drapaty will become the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine . At the same time, Oleksandr Syrskyy will complete his work in the position and hand over his affairs to the new leadership.
