Ukrainian forces in the Sumy direction used drones to block Russian troops’ ground supply and communication lines, which led to serious logistical problems in enemy units.
This is stated in a new report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts report that the Russian Northern Group of Forces, located near Yunakivka, has been without access to water for eight days and is forced to collect rainwater due to complete isolation from the rear. Ukrainian drones have disrupted supplies, including food, water, and ammunition.
At the same time, despite continuing offensive operations in this direction, the occupation forces were unable to achieve any tactical success.
The ISW also noted that the military leadership of the occupiers in this direction consists of officers without combat experience, who are stationed in rear headquarters at a distance of more than 20 km from the front. There have been recorded cases when commanders refuse to evacuate the wounded and dead, which negatively affects the morale of the personnel.
In addition to Sumy Region, Russian troops continue attacks in the north of Kharkiv Region and in the direction of Velyky Burluk, but without success – no progress has been recorded.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russians are actively using sabotage and reconnaissance groups. They use inflatable boats and ropes to cross the Oskil River, which indicates the lack of full engineering support.
