In Odessa, the strengthening of defensive fortifications continues. The city is being prepared for possible threats from the sea and land. The construction of many kilometers of engineering structures around the regional center is being completed.
This was reported by the Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Operational-Tactical Group “Odessa”.
This involves the construction of anti-tank ditches, dugouts, the installation of barbed wire, as well as the so-called “dragon’s teeth” and other engineering barriers.
“Odessa is being prepared for a perimeter defense. The construction of many kilometers of anti-tank ditches and dugouts around the city is being completed,” the report noted.
The military emphasizes that such measures are planned work to strengthen defense, not a demonstration of force.
“Such measures are not bravado, but proactive work so that the enemy has no illusions,” the Territorial Defense Forces emphasized.
They also add that strengthening defenses does not mean increasing risks for the city.
“Reliable defense does not increase, but rather reduces the risk that the enemy will move here in the foreseeable future,” the Southern Military District noted.
